This Chasing Ansel Adams series was born of my childhood admiration of Ansel Adams as both a photographer and an environmentalist. He trained as concert pianist before discovering photography and would always make parallels between the two, referring to the photographic negative as sheet music and the art of printing as a conductor interpreting a score. With that in mind I approached this as a performance piece, like an actor  preparing to play Shakespeare or a conductor Beethoven, to channel this master's love of the land and photography with gratitude because the landscapes in these pictures have been preserved for us to enjoy today through his work pioneering work as an environmentalist.
